Father’s Day Events Around Northern Virginia for Every Kind of Dad

Between graduations, end-of-year celebrations, and the unofficial start of summer, June is already packed, but Father’s Day deserves a spot on the calendar, too. Father’s Day falls on Sunday, June 21st, and Northern Virginia has plenty of ways to celebrate every dad, uncle, grandfather, brother, or father figure. From plane-spotting and antique cars to live music, fishing, BBQs, and an afternoon at a beer garden, there are lots of ways to make memories with Dad. This is technically the weekend before Father’s Day, but it’s very dad-coded: aircraft, pilots, and aviation history. The event includes an outdoor aviation display with 50+ aircraft and family-friendly programming.

Dirt Farm Brewing is going full ’90s dad mode with hot dog + hamburger specials, classic lawn games, cold beer, and backyard BBQ nostalgia. There’s also a beer deal involving 24oz camp mugs, because obviously Dad deserves an oversized beverage. 

Manassas Bee Festival | 8601 Portner Avenue, Manassas

This free festival celebrates pollinators, native plants, and all things bees. Expect interactive exhibits, live hive demonstrations, expert speakers, hands-on learning, and family-friendly outdoor fun. 

Drink With Your Dad Day + Shipgarten | 7581 Colshire Drive, Tysons

Shipgarten’s pre-Father’s Day event includes drinks, food, festival games, prizes, a photo booth, and dog-friendly fun. It’s a casual option for dads who want a beer garden day with games and a crowd. 

Delta Spur: Country Music Favorites + Tarara Winery | 13648 Tarara Lane, Leesburg
Saturday, June 20th, 6PM-9:30PM

Delta Spur will perform country favorites at Tarara Winery as part of a Father’s Day weekend concert night. Doors open at 5PM, so guests can get settled with wine, beer, and a spot on the hill before the music starts.

This annual Father’s Day tradition features hundreds of antique and classic cars, judging, and awards throughout the day. It’s a solid pick for dads who love vintage cars, trucks, and a little nostalgia.

There will be bourbon flights, beer, local vendors, and a barber on site. 

Father’s Day: Field Day With Dad + Shipgarten | 7581 Colshire Drive, Tysons

Shipgarten’s Father’s Day event brings the whole family out for games, moonbounces, face painting, arts + crafts, live music, and outdoor competitions. Scheduled activities include a magic performance, potato sack race, parachute game, and relay-style challenges. 

Father’s Day Surf & Turf + Boxwood Estate Winery | 2042 Burrland Lane, Middleburg

Boxwood Estate Winery is hosting a wine-paired Surf & Turf experience with indoor seating and an elevated Father’s Day menu. Kids are welcome, and adult tickets include a gift bag for Dad plus a half bottle of wine.

This history-focused program celebrates the documents that helped create America ahead of the country’s 250th birthday. It features National Archives docent Jeff Feinstein and is also listed for June 24th.
