The Mosby Woods Turkey Trot is a low-key run/walk through the Mosby Woods neighborhood to celebrate the community and the spirit of the holiday — as well as a chance to support our neighbors through food donations.
This year’s event will be held on Thanksgiving morning, November 26. The 1K kids’ run will start at 8:30 AM. The main 5K event starts at 9:00 AM. (All participants and support volunteers should be able to return to their homes by 10:00 AM.) Participants are requested to arrive for check-in 20-30 minutes prior to their event.
There is no formal entry fee for this event, but all participants are asked to contribute non-perishable food items as their “entry fee.” All non-perishables received will be donated to the Food For Others (FFO) food bank in Merrifield.
Registered participants will receive:
- A bib (number) for every registrant, for both races.
- Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals for the male and female finishers in both event
- Finisher medal (for all kids’ 1K finishers and for the first 50 5K finishers)
- The reward of having contributed to supporting neighbors during this holiday season
