Open Play gets a spooky twist. Come play a few hands, pick up a new trick or two, and stick around for treats – costumes encouraged.
The Tricks
Montahj Social’s instructors will teach a few fun tricks, like how to flip the Mahjong tiles straight onto the rack with the card – a small move but one that shows that you know some of the extras about the game.
The Treats
- Best Costume Contest – Get in the Halloween spirit and see if you take home the title.
- Mahjong Bingo – check off moments throughout the event (think: discarding a joker, self-drawing your tile for Mahjong, calling Mahjong for a concealed hand, etc.) for a shot at a prize once you get a bingo.
Your $45 ticket also includes:
- A welcome drink, including beer, wine, or non-alcoholic beverage
- Light bites, including Indian Samosas (vegan), Belgian Fries (vegetarian, gluten-free), and Chicken & Lemongrass Dumplings
- All Mahjong materials provided, so all you need to bring is yourself (and your costume, if you’ve got one)
