The City of Hoboken and the Division of Health will host a free rabies clinic on Saturday, June 20, on the ground floor of the Multi-Service Center, 124 Grand St.
A licensed veterinarian from the Animal Infirmary of Hoboken will be on hand to administer the shots to dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The State of New Jersey and City of Hoboken require all dogs be vaccinated for rabies and are licensed. A license is required to receive a vaccination.
Licenses will be available for purchase at the clinic. A one-year license costs $12 if the dog is spayed or neutered and $16 if the dog is not spayed or neutered. Three-year license fees are $30 if the dog is spayed or neutered and $40 if not. Only cash and personal checks will be accepted.
Cats do not need to be licensed in Hoboken, but it is strongly encouraged to have them vaccinated against rabies.
All pets must be accompanied by a Hoboken resident over the age of 18, and on a leash or in a carrier. There are no appointments as the event is first come, first served. Vaccinated animals will receive a tag and certificate.
