Join Northern Virginia Bird Alliance and naturalist and wildlife photographer Matt Felperin for a hands-on morning of birding, photography, and learning during fall migration.
Put the virtual session’s lessons into practice during a morning of birding and photography at Algonkian Regional Park. You’ll focus on finding and photographing migrating songbirds while also watching for raptors, waterfowl, and other birds moving along and over the Potomac River. Bring your camera, binoculars, and questions; all experience levels are welcome.
This Field Workshop is designed as a collaborative learning experience. You’ll have opportunities to practice your photography, ask questions as challenges arise in the field, and learn from Matt and fellow participants.
Whether you’re trying to capture a warbler moving through dense foliage, get your camera to focus on the bird instead of the branches, work with changing morning light, or simply document what you’re seeing for eBird and community science, this is a chance to practice alongside others who share your interests.
