About Compton’s

Alex Compton is the visionary behind the sandwich shop. He left his corporate job behind and opened the first location in Astoria, Queens in 2018. With the success of his Astoria location, he expanded his venture to open more locations — three in NYC and now New Jersey.

The Compton’s menu has a variety of choices to fulfill one’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner needs. Whether you crave something warm or cold, with a Parmesan flair, classic breakfast favorites, mouthwatering burgers, wraps, or cheesesteaks, if it can be nestled between two slices of bread, the menu at Compton’s is likely to feature it. Compton’s menu perfectly embodies its motto “Everybody Eats,” as it caters to everyone with a diverse range of choices. Compton’s accommodates various dietary needs with options for vegetarians, vegans, and those following a gluten-free diet. There are also salads available, and a kids menu.

What to Expect

Compton’s has an electric atmosphere. The music sets a cheerful tone, and the brightly colored menu immediately grabs the patron’s attention. Although the space is small, there are a few tables available for those who choose to dine in. Each table presents a Connect Four game, and when BG asked about this choice, Alex explained that he initially introduced the games to give customers a fun distraction while waiting for their food. He chose Connect Four specifically because it’s a childhood favorite. Occasionally, he even challenges customers to a game, claiming that he’s not just a champion of sandwiches but of Connect Four as well.

Compton’s location on Anderson Avenue means it’s near the Towne Centre and the Cliffside Park municipal parking lot. Parking on Anderson Avenue is a bit tricky, so the municipal lots are guests’ best bets for finding a spot, and the $0.50 per hour rate doesn’t hurt either.
