Known for its simple menu + classic smashburger style, the brand is now open in Bergen County at 370 West Pleasantview Avenue in Hackensack as of June 8th, 2026. 7th Street Burger is relatively trendy in the foodie scene. The brand opened its first East Village location in 2021, and in just a few short years, it has been referred to by many as one of NYC’s best smash burgers. While some call it “overrated,” the burger joint has continued to expand, with no signs of slowing down as it ventures beyond New York City and across the river into New Jersey, with Philadelphia also on the horizon. At 7th Street Burger, diners can expect a casual, grab-and-go vibe. It’s very much a takeout-style burger spot with a tight menu featuring regular burgers, cheeseburgers, a spicy jalapeño burger, and a vegan option.

Our team has visited the Hoboken location, and while the burgers live up to the hype, the fries deserve a shoutout, too. Guests can choose from standard fries, loaded beef fries, or loaded Impossible fries made with vegan meat. There’s also the option to add the signature spicy jalapeño topping to the fries for an extra kick. Our order is usually pretty simple: a classic cheeseburger and fries, always with a side of the house sauce (iykyk). The menu is small and straightforward, just what you need and nothing you don’t.
The 7th Street Burger team announced that they will be officially opening on Monday, June 8th for service. In an Instagram post, they wrote, “Our Hackensack, New Jersey location is officially opening on Monday, June 8th at 11 am!! Tag a friend you want to have a [burger] with…” This marks the brand’s second New Jersey location, with a third slated to open in Union at 2180 US-22, according to its Google Business listing.
