Popular outdoor retailer Bass Pro Shops will open a location in New Jersey in fall 2026. This will be the chain’s second location in New Jersey, joining an Atlantic City outlet. Bass Pro Shops will open in Sayreville and will reportedly be 200,000 square feet in size, making it the largest single-level BPS location in the US. Bass Pro Shops is a Missouri-based chain of immersive outdoor fishing, hunting, and camping stores across the United States. The outdoor theme is top-to-bottom, with many locations displaying wildlife mounts and indoor aquariums. Bass Pro offers specialized gear for any outdoor activity you could think of, as well as being a premier boat manufacturer. The location in Atlantic City opened in 2015.
What We Know
Earlier this summer, Bass Pro Shops provided details for the new store, which will be known as the “revolutionary” new Outdoor World Bass Pro. At 200,000 square feet, it will be the largest single-level Bass Pro Shops location in the United States. The store will be inside the Riverton retail complex off the Garden State Parkway.
The overall largest Bass Pro Shops in the United States is the Memphis Pyramid, which is a four-level Bass Pro Shops megastore with a hotel, restaurants, bowling alley, and more.

This location has many features setting it apart from other Bass Pro Shops. The main attraction is a 65,000-gallon Shipwreck Aquarium. Surrounding that will be a 12,000-gallon ray touch pool. To add to the marine displays, there will be live jellyfish exhibits and an interactive “Sketch Aquarium” for kids. The lobby will feature a large, functional fireplace and murals of New Jersey’s landscape and wildlife. In addition to carrying the normal hunting and fishing gear Bass Pro is known for, this shop will carry gear for hiking, biking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, and camping.
Bass Pro is looking to hire over 300 employees across all departments for the store and has hosted two hiring events. While an opening date hasn’t been confirmed, The New Jersey Girl will update this piece when we find out.
