Down at the Jersey Shore, there’s no shortage of ways to give back this winter — yes, even during the off-season. From supporting homeless shelters and food security initiatives to helping keep our beaches and oceans clean, there are plenty of opportunities to make a real impact. Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey is an interfaith nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free supportive services to elderly and homebound individuals, helping them live independently. Volunteer opportunities support a range of services, and application forms and additional information can be found on the organization’s website.

Clean Ocean Action |  49 Avenel Boulevard, Long Branch

Founded in 1984, Clean Ocean Action brings together a network of people to protect and restore our waters. The coalition focuses on investigating the sources, impacts, and solutions related to ocean pollution through advocacy, research, and community engagement. Fulfill | 3300 NJ-66, Neptune Township

Fulfill works to accelerate food security throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals ages 13 + and can be completed independently or as part of a group. Interfaith Neighbors | 810 4th Avenue, Asbury Park

Interfaith Neighbors is a nonprofit organization founded in May 1988 to address the growing issue of homelessness in Monmouth County. Volunteer opportunities vary, and additional information about current ways to get involved can be found on the Interfaith Neighbors website.

Lunch Break creates a meaningful, lasting impact by helping people achieve their goals + bringing the community together. Through free programs and services, the organization provides essential resources that support individuals and families in need. Volunteer opportunities are available for those 16 +.
