The Jersey connection is strong within the uber popular Netflix film, KPop Demon Hunters. The movie has taken over radio waves, social media, Halloween costumes, and even other TV shows. The Jersey Shore Girl has learned one of the actresses in the supernatural musical grew up in a New Jersey town close to the shore. Here’s what we know about the Jersey connection to the star of one of the biggest movies of 2025.
Inside The Movie
KPop Demon Hunters follows Huntr/x, a three-member K-pop group, performing for massive audiences and battling supernatural creatures. It came out on Netflix in June 2025 and has over 236 million views and growing, becoming the most-watched Netflix film of all time. Plus, the soundtrack slayed the charts. “KPop Demon Hunters (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film)” is the first soundtrack with four simultaneous Top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

The New Jersey Connection
The Jersey Shore Girl has learned the voice behind the character Mira was born and raised in Monmouth County. Korean-American singer and rapper Audrey Nuna grew up in Manaplan, where she started her singing career as a teen uploading covers of songs online. When she was just ten years old, she sang “America The Beautiful” at the US Open.
Audrey later went on to attend the Clive Davis Music Institute of New York University for her freshman year, but went on to take a break to focus on her music. She started releasing her own music in 2018 before signing to her label, Sony Arista Records, in 2019. She’s since collaborated with artists like Jack Harlow and DJ Snake.

Audrey isn’t the only KPop Demon Hunter with a New Jersey connection. One of the other parts of the trio is EJAE, the singing voice for Rumi. She spent part of her early childhood living in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Together these women have performed across the world, including some popular shows like The Tonight Show, Saturday Night Live, and the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. All wonderful additions to the growing list of amazing artists with Jersey roots.
