After a day of surfing and sunbathing, you can walk up to the Moorlyn Square Theatre – a movie theater located on the Ocean City boardwalk – to cool down in the air conditioning + catch the latest theatrical releases. The Moorlyn Square Theatre first opened its doors in 1905 as Moore’s Bowling Casino before transforming into a 1,600-seat movie palace in 1922. After closing in 2018, its future was uncertain until Town Square Entertainment (which also owns Jersey Shore movie theaters: the Harbor Square Theatre, Cape Square Entertainment, Tilton Square Theatre, and Ventor Square Theatre) purchased the building in 2022 to bring it back to life. After extensive renovations, the theater reopened in 2024 and now has four screening rooms with laser projectors, Dolby Atmos sound, and comfortable seating. The revival preserved a treasured piece of Ocean City history and highlights the city’s dedication to providing unforgettable family entertainment experiences to locals and visitors alike. Adult movie tickets cost $14.54 while senior + children’s tickets cost $12.19. Tickets and reserved seats for movies at Moorlyn Square Theatre can be purchased online.
