A new smoothie spot just steps from the beach will soon be serving cold-pressed juices, smoothies, hydration revivers, plus coffee and tea. Low Tide Smoothie Co. will be open daily from 7AM-3PM, making it an easy stop for a refreshing drink after a morning on the sand.

Signature smoothies include the LowTide Fav, Shore Break, and Sunkissed, each packed with protein to keep you fueled for beach days or post-workout recovery. Follow the brand’s Instagram page here to stay tuned for an opening date.

Lobster Dock | 3626 Route 35 North

Right next door is Lobster Dock, which recently opened for service on May 8th. The expansion marks its second Jersey Shore location, with the original just down 35 in Ortley. Its spring hours are Friday 4PM-8PM + weekends from 12PM-8PM.

The menu features a raw bar with local clams, oysters, and shrimp, along with a chilled seafood cocktail, sriracha hot wings, and more. Guests can also find salads and soups, plus handhelds like a Maine lobster roll and crab cake sandwich. A kids’ menu is also available, with lighter bite options available.

Papa Ganache | 3620 Highway 35 North

A popular vegan bakery (with some gluten-free items) is expected to open in Normandy Beach, with plans to open by Memorial Day. The cafe has a location in Matawan and previously had one in Manasquan, though that outpost recently closed.

The menu features both sweet and savory treats, from pastries to empanadas, all made in small batches. Everything is cholesterol-free and contains no trans fats, dairy, eggs, preservatives, or animal products.

The bakery will also soon launch cannabis-infused edibles in partnership with Garden State Exotix. Guests can expect gummies, brownie bites, baby cakes, s’mores, and more. Papa Ganache also hosts cooking classes out of its kitchen in Keyport, NJ. Classes are limited to groups of eight and are open to guests ages 12 and up.

Its website states, “Life can be sweet without wheat, and it doesn’t have to be scary without dairy!”

The Undergrind Cafe | 563 Route 35 North

The Jersey Shore is a far cry from Europe, but this new business is bringing a taste of England. The Undergrind Cafe is a London-inspired spot coming to 563 Route 35 North. With a menu inspired by London’s Tube stops, guests can enjoy a proper “cuppa” alongside fresh scones and other British-influenced bites.

Owners Kim and Mike have spent decades living, working, and traveling throughout London, drawing inspiration from neighborhoods like Westminster, Covent Garden, Soho, and Borough Market, as well as areas north and south of the Thames.

The result is a fusion cafe that blends classic British comfort foods with Jersey Shore favorites. Its menu features everything from specialty coffee drinks and lattes to pizza, salads, sandwiches, and “toasties,” including grilled cheese. The estimated opening date is Wednesday, May 20th (though this is subject to change). Be on the lookout for updates on its Facebook page here.

Once open, the café will operate Monday through Thursday from 7AM-8PM, Friday and Saturday from 7AM-10PM, and Sundays from 7AM-10PM.

Mid Shore Meats on The Island | 3591 Route 35 N

Mid Shore Meats on The Island has taken over the space formerly home to Lasolas (one of our favorites for a buffalo chicken wrap), but is staying true to the property’s roots as a market. With one location in Toms River, Mid Shore Meats on the Island is a full-scale market and deli, with handcrafted specialty sandwiches, Italian meats, fresh-baked breads and muffins, and grocery items for your beach-day needs. On its website, Mid Shore Meats declares: “Whether you’re packing a cooler for the sand, hosting a backyard gathering, or planning a full week of family meals, we know exactly what belongs on your table.”

The new market made its debut in May of 2026 and is open 8AM – 6PM every day, though closing times sometimes vary.
