On Friday around 1:00PM, a 2.4 earthquake was felt near Paramus, New Jersey in Bergen County.
Originally, it was only reported currently by the site Earthquake Track, it appears to have its epicenter in the Paramus area. The last major shake of the New Jersey area was felt back in April 2024, when a 4.5 magnitude earthquake shook most of New Jersey and the NYC metro area.
Bergen County’s Office of Emergency Management said they are “confirming an earthquake through the USGS that has impacted the Paramus area. It is reported to be magnitude of 2.4. Please call 9-1-1 to report emergencies only.”
“No reports of serious damage have been reported at this time. We will continue to monitor this situation and issue further alerts as warranted,” they also shared.
