S. Household Bill Pay Market Size and Category Breakout from 2024, New Jersey is the fourth-most expensive state in America in recurring household bills. As of 2024, it sits at rates of $2,653 monthly and $31,836 annually, which is 24.8% above the United States&#8217; monthly average. The report also presents NJ as the 2nd-costliest in mortgage spending, 5th-costliest in rent, 4th-costliest in utilities, and the most expensive in alarm + security spending.<\/p>\n<p>The state is also one of the most expensive independently of housing, with <a href=\"https:\/\/nj1015.com\/new-jersey-living-costs-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some common factors<\/a> including property taxes, car insurance, tolls, state income tax, and utility bills.
