However, amidst the darkness of this natural disaster, there was a story of joy to follow \u2014 a local Jersey Shore couple got married at the Water Witch Club in Highlands. New Jersey was recently hit with a strong nor&#8217;easter over the weekend of Saturday, September 26th, with heavy rain and <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.com\/2026\/09\/28\/forecast\/regional\/noreaster-forecast-coastal-flooding-rain-wind-boston-mid-atlantic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recorded winds of up to 74 mph<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The storm particularly had an adverse effect on the Jersey Shore region of the state, with eight counties <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/governor\/news\/2026\/20260925a.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">under a state of emergency<\/a> over the past weekend due to the weather: Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem.
