<strong>Anglers caught and released a tiger shark estimated to be up to 12 feet long and 700 to 800 pounds from a Manasquan beach<\/strong>, marking a rare Jersey Shore appearance for the species (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/ocean\/2026\/08\/shark-caught-at-popular-jersey-shore-spot-is-latest-nj-sighting.html\"><i>NJ.com<\/i><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<strong>Upper Township introduced an ordinance that would require beach tags in Strathmere beginning in 2027,<\/strong> with proposed prices ranging from $10 daily to $45 seasonally and a final vote scheduled for August 24th (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thedigestonline.com\/news\/strathmere-beach-tags-upper-township-nj\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The New Jersey Digest<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-All aboard. <strong>NY Waterway is set to take over ferry service between Belford and Manhattan beginning September 8th<\/strong>, replacing Seastreak with expanded weekday and weekend service under a new Monmouth County contract (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.app.com\/story\/news\/local\/monmouth-county\/2026\/08\/12\/ny-waterway-on-track-to-take-over-the-belford-to-manhattan-ferry-route\/91265058007\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asbury Park Press<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<strong>Jackson Day will celebrate its 50th anniversary on August 23rd at Johnson Park<\/strong> with live entertainment, vendors, family activities, sports, and other community festivities (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jerseyshoreonline.com\/jackson\/jackson-day-to-celebrate-its-50th-anniversary\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jersey Shore Online<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<strong>New Jersey unveiled a commemorative Revolutionary War license plate celebrating America\u2019s 250th anniversary,<\/strong> with production expected to begin after the state receives at least 500 applications and the necessary startup funding.
