He says the business he\u2019s taking over has operated for over 35 years in Belmar. Located at 913 Main Street, the shop is only a few blocks from the water. A feast for time travelers, the store displayed outfits from the 1920s, 1950s, 1980s, and more. The owner, Pat Tecza, retired this year after spending decades selling gently used clothes down the shore, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=938900081575357&amp;set=pb.100063661203867.-2207520000&amp;type=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">according to a Facebook post<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>How Vintage On First Started in Hoboken<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The opening of the Hoboken <a href=\"https:\/\/thelocalgirl.com\/jerseyshore\/thrift-consignment-vintage-stores-asbury-park\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vintage shop<\/a> felt like a rollercoaster ride. Mark Rosado had traveled the world for years, collecting cool items and clothes, and started selling his finds at different markets in New York City. Just weeks after the grand opening, it was forced to shut down due to a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hobokengirl.com\/vintage-shop-victim-to-landlord-scam-vintage-on-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rental scam<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Mark previously told <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hoboken Girl <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he discovered his \u201clandlord\u201d was a tenant who had fallen behind on rent<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The real landlord had taken the keys and told the shop to vacate the store. Thanks to the support of the community, Mark was able to host pop-ups in nearby locations like Antique Bakery at 122 Willow Avenue. The store later reopened down the street for the second time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second location was just a short\u2013term lease, but Mark was committed to finding a permanent home for Vintage on First in Hoboken. He continued to look for a new location to sell vintage clothes and goods before finally settling on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hobokengirl.com\/vintage-clothing-hoboken-location-vintage-on-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">257 First Street<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. On top of selling clothes, the storefront welcomed Porch Finds, a pop-up shop selling second-hand clothes and other vintage finds. The pop\u2013up partnered with Vintage On First in 2018 before making the store its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hobokengirl.com\/porch-finds-inside-vintage-on-first-hoboken\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">permanent home<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 2023.
