Although mainly a summer community, with a population of about 2,000 residents, it is definitely a destination that is worth visiting. Lavallette is only one square mile, but this charming seaside community is still jam-packed with activities for all ages. It\u2019s also conveniently located tucked between two other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hobokengirl.com\/best-jersey-shore-beaches-guide-by-exit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">popular shore towns<\/a>,\u00a0Point Pleasant Beach\u00a0and Seaside Heights.<\/p>\n<p>Lavallette was named after\u00a0Elie A. F. La Vallette, one of the first\u00a0rear admirals\u00a0appointed in the\u00a0United States Navy\u00a0when President\u00a0Abraham Lincoln\u00a0created the rank in 1862. He was also the father of Albert T. You will also find vacationers kayaking, boating, jet skiing, and paddleboarding on the calm water. West Point Island is also worth exploring, where you\u2019ll discover beautiful waterfront mansions, including one that was home to actor Joe Pesci for many years.
