Your Jersey Shore Beach Badge Guide
As you probably already know, New Jersey beaches aren’t free during the summer. At the Jersey Shore, visitors are required to buy a beach badge, a daily wristband, or a season pass to enjoy a dip in the Atlantic Ocean from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. Some beaches have implemented new technologies, like the Viply app, to sell beach badges, while others have a booth to visit before entering the beach area to pay for your visit. From prices to parking info, we have broken it down to help locals navigate whichever beach they're visiting at the Jersey Shore this summer. Read on for a beach badge guide for the Jersey Shore.
Asbury Park
Asbury Park Beach passes (badges or wristbands) are required to access the Asbury Park Beaches from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Daily beach passes and season beach badges are available for purchase online, in-person, at the beach office located on the boardwalk at First Avenue, at the ticket booths on Asbury Avenue, Second Avenue, Third Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Sixth Avenue, and Seventh Avenue, or from credit card kiosks along the boardwalk. Daily beach passes can only be used for the day they are purchased, and season beach badges are not replaceable if lost or stolen. Credit card transactions are preferred, but cash is accepted at the beach office and the 7th Avenue Beach Booth. Children 12 and under are free and do not need a beach pass to access the beach, but must be supervised by an adult. Beach passes will not be required to access the beach starting Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. After Labor Day, lifeguards will not be on duty, and swimming is prohibited.

Allenhurst
The Allenhurst Beach Club provides nonmembers with access to the Allenhurst beach with the purchase of a daily pass. A daily pass also grants guests access to bathrooms and showers. Adult badges are $12 on weekdays and $15 on weekends and holidays. Children 12 and under are always free. Daily passes can be picked up on Cedar Avenue and Allen Avenue. Seasonal membership rates can be found on the Allenhurst Beach Club website.
Avon-by-The-Sea

In Avon-by-the-Sea, beach badges are required in the summer months to access the beach on weekdays from 9AM to 5PM and 9AM to 5:30PM on weekends and holidays. Daily wristbands are $12 and can be purchased at the beach at the Sylvania Avenue, Washington Avenue, and Norwood Avenue tag booths. Adult Season Badges are $100, senior citizens season badges (65 + over), and young adult (ages 12-18) season badges are $55. Lifeguards are on duty from 9AM to 5:30PM every day from June 14th through Labor Day. Parking in Avon-by-the-Sea is free, BTW!
Bay Head
Badges are required to use Bay Head beaches through Labor Day. A full season badge costs $110 and can be paid by check or in cash. Daily badges for Bay Head are $12 and cash only. The Bay Head Beach office is located at 532 Lake Avenue in the Sandy Rail building at the corner of Mount Street and Lake Avenue.
Belmar

Beach badges are required for admission to Belmar’s beaches from 9AM to 6PM on Fridays, weekends, and holidays beginning Memorial Day weekend and 9AM to 5PM during the weekdays beginning in mid-June. Belmar’s daily beach badges cost $12 and must be ordered via phone/mobile device at belmarbeachbadges.com before heading to the booth. Once ordered, you will show your QR code to the booth attendant and receive your wristband to access the beach. Seasonal badges are available for $80 and $32 for senior citizens and can be purchased online or at Taylor Pavilion, located at 5500 Ocean Avenue.
Bradley Beach
Bradley Beach Badges are required starting Memorial Day Weekend and all weekends until Labor Day Weekend. Daily beach badges cost $12, and weekly badges cost $45. Beach badges purchased in person are cash or check only. Daily badges can be purchased online via Bradley Beach’s website or in person at ticket kiosks on the boardwalk. Lifeguards are on duty on weekdays from 9AM to 5PM and weekends and holidays from 9AM to 6 PM. Parking on the east side of Ocean Avenue and the east end of Bradley Boulevard is all paid parking. The parking spaces are numbered, and payment is accepted at the Pay Station Kiosks located on Ocean Avenue and Sylvan Lake. Parking is free in the residential neighborhoods of Bradley Beach.
Brick Beach

Brick Township operates three ocean beaches on the barrier island. The Brick beaches are staffed with lifeguards on weekends beginning Memorial Day Weekend and then staffed seven days a week from mid-June through Labor Day. Beach badges are required to access all of the Brick beaches. Season badges can be purchased at the Brick recreation office at 270 Chambers Bridge Road until June 9th or at Brick Beaches 1 or 3. Season badges and parking passes are $30 each if purchased before May 15 or $45 each if purchased after May 15. There are no refunds for lost, stolen, misplaced, or unused beach badges or parking passes. Daily wristbands are $10, and daily parking is $10. Information about the three Brick beaches can be found on Brick Township’s website.
Brigantine
Brigantine’s pre-season beach tag rates are $20 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 60-64, and free for seniors over 65 if purchased by May 31st. A regular seasonal beach tag costs $25, while a daily tag is $10 and a weekly tag is $15. The City of Brigantine offers permitted parking in oceanfront parking lots such as Roosevelt Blvd. and Brigantine Avenue, 16th Street and Ocean Avenue, 26th Street and Ocean Avenue, 34th Street and Ocean Avenue, and 38th Street and Ocean Avenue. Brigantine’s parking passes are $30 for the season and $10 daily.
Cape May

Summer pricing for the 2025 season in Cape May includes seasonal tags for $40, weekly (Saturday to Saturday) tags for $25, three-day (consecutive) tags for $20, and daily tags for $10. There is early bird pricing for Cape May season tags if purchased between December 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025. The discounted rate for season tags is $30 each, and they can be purchased at the Cape May City Hall Tax Office at 643 Washington Street.
Island Beach State Park
Island Beach State Park has an entrance fee (per car, not per person) to access its beaches from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. On weekdays, it is $6 for NJ residents and $12 for non-NJ residents to enter. Weekends and holidays cost $10 for NJ residents and $20 for non-NJ residents. The swimming beaches — known as Swimming Areas 1 and 2 – are staffed with lifeguards. Swimming at Island Beach State Park is only permitted during the summer months when lifeguards are on duty. Both swimming areas have parking areas, bathhouse pavilions with changing areas, first aid stations, and concessions.
Lavallette

Lavallette beach badges are sold at the Lavallette Municipal Building from Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM, at 1306 Grand Central Avenue. Season badges are $60, senior season badges are $20, and parking stickers are $15 if purchased before May 30th, 2025. Beach badges must be worn at all times and be visible on the front of the bathing suit. This rule applies to both the ocean and bay beaches in Lavallette. It is $13 per person for a daily badge. Street parking is free and on a first-come, first-served basis on the side streets and the ocean blocks.
Long Branch

Long Branch beach badges are $6 Monday through Friday, $9 on weekends and holidays, and $3 every day for ages 14-17. There is no app needed to access the badges. They are available in-person only at Recreation (231 Wilbur Ray Avenue), both cash and credit accepted. Badges are for Long Branch Municipal beaches only. A public parking guide can be found here.
Manasquan
Manasquan badge checkers are on duty from 9AM to 4PM from Saturday, June 15th, through Monday, September 2nd, and on weekends beginning on Saturday, May 25th. Seasonal adult badges (ages 17-64) cost $90, seasonal senior badges (ages 65 or older) are $35, and junior badges (ages 12-16) are available for $45. Daily badges cost $12. Daily badges can be purchased upon arrival at the beach at one of Manasquan’s sales locations at Sea Watch, Riddle Way, Main Beach, Brielle Road, Pompano, Whiting, and Inlet. Surfing beaches are located from Inlet Beach to Whiting II Beach at the discretion of the lifeguards. There are four bathrooms along the Manasquan beachfront, and they are located at Elk’s Beach, Main Beach, Brielle Road Beach, and Inlet Beach. Bathrooms are open from 9AM to 5:30PM during the beach season. Manasquan Beach also offers free on-street parking.

Ocean Grove
There are two ways to buy Ocean Grove beach badges: purchase online with your credit card, OR in person at the beach office, located on the Ocean Grove boardwalk just opposite the pier. Daily beach badges are $13, and children ages 11 and under are free. Badges are only required on days when the beach is staffed, which is daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. The @OGBeaches Instagram shares a post every single morning during the summer with high and low tide times, the water temperature, and a list of any activities that may be happening in town that day.
Point Pleasant
At Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, no one will be admitted onto the beach without a daily wristband or season badge during its hours of operation. A full season pass costs $130, while a daily beach pass for adults ages 12 and up costs $13 on weekdays and $14 on weekends and holidays. Rates for beach chairs, umbrellas, lounge chairs, and the pavilion bathhouse can be found on Jenkinsons' website.
Seaside

Seaside charges a beach fee to help cover the expenses related to providing visitors a clean and safe public beach experience. The Seaside Heights daily entrance fee is $13 for the ocean beaches. The pre-season rate for season passes is $65 if purchased from December 25th up to and including May 15th. The regular rate of a $75 season pass is effective on May 16th.
