The restaurant began with a straightforward concept: a pasta house where customers could customize their meals, choosing from sauces made in-house. According to Rishi, that emphasis on pasta and Italian comfort food has remained central to the business, even as the restaurant has evolved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><strong>See more:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thelocalgirl.com\/fairfax\/arlington-collage-collective-northern-va\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Free Arlington Meetup That\u2019s Sparking Creativity + Connection<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2023, the building where Il Radicchio was located <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsta.org\/press-release\/national-science-teaching-association-sells-arlington-headquarters-building-14m?srsltid=AU7gw4XgMZ0K0wUncfH1tx39Fbbyww0GJmqej8K0SqQTE9JaVg_fD3z2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was sold to a developer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who later announced plans for a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dc.urbanturf.com\/articles\/blog\/188-unit_apartment_building_pitched_on_wilson_boulevard_in_courthouse\/21827\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mixed-use building<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the site. In June 2026, Il Radicchio closed its Courthouse location and made plans to move to Clarendon. \u201cIt all happened quickly,\u201d Rishi said. \u201cWe found out that the Mazaro space would be available, and it was a perfect fit.\u201d Throughout the summer, the team worked on moving into the new space and making necessary upgrades.&nbsp; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We wanted to stay local and serve all of our customers,\u201d Rishi said of the move to Clarendon. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I&#8217;m looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces that I saw when I was 16 years old, coming back over the years, seeing everyone. And I&#8217;m looking forward to a new crowd as well, and seeing what this neighborhood can offer.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>What to Expect<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Clarendon space is much bigger than the original location: it has a long bar, a bigger dining room, and outdoor seating. Part of the restaurant facing Wilson Boulevard has a louvered window that can be opened fully.&nbsp; But the menu and overall atmosphere are the same. \u201cWe just want to give you good Italian comfort food at a reasonable price,\u201d Rishi said. \u201cWe want to give you a fine dining experience, but in a casual environment,\u201d he said.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pasta remains at the center of Il Radicchio\u2019s menu. He described the dish as rich, comforting, and warming. While the old restaurant served beer and wine, the new space has a full bar. At the time of our visit, the team was still working on finalizing its liquor license. Rishi said he is developing a cocktail selection with a focus on Italian classics such as Aperol spritzes, along with limoncello and Italian wines.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is also more room to gather. Rishi said the new location can accommodate more private parties. One tradition he hopes to expand is welcoming Marine Corps Marathon runners for pre-race dinners. Il Radicchio has hosted runners in past years, and the new space gives the team the ability to seat more people for those meals. \u201cThey come in here to carb-load,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s just a lot of pasta!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ilradicchio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Il Radicchio<\/a> is located at 2909 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington.
