In addition to Lowery\u2019s Dial celebrating being 4 years old, it\u2019s also celebrating the 1st anniversary of moving to the new spot.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The store also has a deep familial connection, as it\u2019s the namesake of two of Maggie\u2019s family members. \u201cLowery is my great-grandmother,\u201d Maggie said. \u201cMimi Lowery had an antique fine china shop in Modesto, California that she ran. She described how thrifting and looking for brand new things &#8211; essentially, being a \u201cpicker\u201d &#8211; had always been a part of her lifestyle. \u201cMy mom and I, we\u2019d always get thrifting and always find fun stuff,\u201d Maggie said. \u201cI mean, the thrill of the hunt was basically my whole life. I always enjoyed it.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The Store&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maggie was particularly inspired to start Lowery\u2019s Dial after an experience she had helping friends decorate. \u201cI started this whole thing because I was helping guy friends decorate their houses and was finding cool stuff on the cheap,\u201d she said. \u201cI just started pairing stuff together and the projects were really fun and turned out well. She finds that estate sales have just the kind of products she\u2019s looking for &#8211; things that are cool, vintage, and nostalgic. You just never know what people are getting rid of. Neighborhood, free-listing stuff, [I\u2019m] just always out finding everything,\u201d she said.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for the more specific types of items that Maggie is usually searching for, Lowery\u2019s Dial\u2019s favorite aesthetic can be described as girly and old French and English. Maggie\u2019s also really drawn towards 90s and Laura Ashley styles, as well as wicker and quirky ceramic animals, for an overall \u201ccottage core-ish\u201d vibe. She enjoys pairing things together: the example she gave was putting a vintage pair of cocktail glasses with cute and newer embroidered cocktail napkins. \u201cIt\u2019s really fun to go thrifting and find cool stuff, and then find the vintage-centered things that are new that go really well with it,\u201d Maggie said.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What to Expect&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to its fun collection of assorted vintage items, Lowery\u2019s Dial also hosts a wide variety of events, such as mahjong open-play nights, calligraphy classes, workshops, and more. \u201cWe did a vision board workshop in January, we do watercolor nights, we did a garden vintage cookbook party last summer,\u201d Maggie said, mentioning the last one &#8211; an Ina Garten cookbook dinner potluck &#8211; is one she hopes to do again. It\u2019s what I love doing.
