The farm is about 150 acres in size, with 90 acres set aside for farming. Currently, 17 members of the family live on the property, which has its own small lake and a stone house built in the 1860\u2019s by John George\u2019s grandson, Samuel George. Sam and Molly Kroiz are the current farmers: Sam is a descendant of John George. Now, the herd has upwards of 80 adult goats, with 80-100 babies born each spring. The entire operation is on site at George&#8217;s Mill, from the goat milking to the cheesemaking.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Baby Goat Cuddles<\/h3>\n<p>George\u2019s Mill Farm is a working farm, so while it\u2019s not exactly set up for regular visitors, the team participates in the twice-yearly <a href=\"https:\/\/loudounfarms.org\/farmtour\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Loudoun County Farm Tour<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;and the springtime baby goat feeding sessions. \u201cThe goats graze throughout the property, so most of the time they\u2019re far away,\u201d Molly said. \u201cThat\u2019s not as fun for visitors.\u201d The goats mainly eat all the green stuff that is not grass, such as brambles, vines, and trees, known as \u2018browse\u2019. At our mid-March visit, there were about 40 baby goats and all but one goat were part of a set of multiples &#8211; lots of goat twins and triplets. \u201cThese all arrived on March 7th and 8th,\u201d Molly said. \u201cWe\u2019ll have another round probably March 24th and 25th.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><strong>See more:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thelocalgirl.com\/fairfax\/meowtown-cat-lounge-mclean-va\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meow Town Cat Lounge in McLean Blends Cat Rescue With Inclusive Employment<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The baby goat experience is everything you imagine it would be &#8211; cute, chaotic, noisy, funny. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgesmillcheese.com\/baby-goats-visiting-bottle-feeding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bottle feeding<\/a> is by reservation, and the babies are hungry and excited. Molly and her team make sure that every guest has a goat and every goat has a bottle.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guests can also reserve private snuggle sessions, which do not include bottle feeding. Guests can also visit the baby goats from dusk till dawn during the season. The most up-to-date information is found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/georgesmillcheese\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">farm&#8217;s social media<\/a>. The snuggle sessions and bottle feeding are held rain or shine; after all, it&#8217;s a farm.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s plenty of parking at the farm, and there is a farm store near the baby goats with locally grown produce, and of course, goat cheeses. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgesmillcheese.com\/farmstead-cheese\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georges Mill Farm cheeses<\/a> can be found at many local markets, farmers markets, and restaurants.
