In October, volunteers from Prince William County Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Amazon and KABOOM!, will build a great new place for kids to play! The project will be kicked off at Design Day, where a KABOOM! Project Manager will lead an interactive meeting for adults and kids to share their ideas!<\/p>\n
The purpose of the children\u2019s meeting is to get input from the \u201cplayspace experts\u201d (the kids, of course!) about what they would like to see on their new playspace. Youth involvement and participation are important parts of the KABOOM! community-build model and Design Day is an essential first step in including and thinking about the interests of the children at every stage of this project.<\/p>\n
The adult’s meeting will kick off the KABOOM! planning process by introducing the playspace build model and identifying volunteers who can take on leadership roles. This leadership team will develop ideas and action steps to ensure a successful project. The KABOOM! Project Manager is looking for individuals who can commit to weekly one-hour planning calls over the next several weeks and lead in a few different areas. <\/p>\n
