While both were founded by Louis Bridges, an early burger entrepreneur, the original Jersey City location was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hobokengirl.com\/white-mana-diner-jersey-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">built in 1939 for the World\u2019s Fair<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the Hackensack location didn\u2019t open until 1946, not long after WWII. The two restaurants have since become separate businesses under different ownership, and White Manna has been operated by the Cohen family since the 1980s.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid02R4HhipKP99whrfE9EU7hhf3p4vFDYdHTEtygAAxNErVfdvw7JN4TwDGAekTduCWLl&amp;id=100064801805923&amp;rdid=ICbCtFIRHD1yuzFr#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vintage Bergen County<\/span><\/a><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>,<\/em> the White Manna building has been moved before. It was built by the Paramount Dining Cars Company in Haledon before it was brought to Hackensack by Louis Bridges in 1946. Then, in 1969, the building was moved 20 feet north, where it still is located today.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>What&#8217;s Planned<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rather than construct an entirely new restaurant, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1_E1rwieuuigbpwmjfu7mafXGzP0_hXAj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">site plans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> call for Esther Realty of Teaneck to relocate the nearly 80-year-old 276-square-foot original building to the new site. Behind it, developers will construct an approximately 1,600-square-foot addition on two adjacent plots at the corner of Temple and Hackensack that will house a larger kitchen, a dedicated takeout area, an ADA-accessible dining room, an accessible restroom, an additional restroom, and office space. A timeline for the move and expansion has not yet been announced, so don\u2019t worry \u2013 there\u2019s still time to enjoy a bite at White Manna\u2019s original location.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are committed to providing our customers with the same experience they expect \u2013 only better!\u201d Said a statement from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/whitemannaburgers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">White Manna<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cWe want to thank our wonderful customers and the mayor and city council of Hackensack for allowing us to make this move and to continue to serve the community.
