Bergen County’s dessert scene continues to grow, and a familiar name is about to become even more accessible. Half Baked, a popular online bakery known for its rich cookies and imaginative treats, is opening its very first storefront at 107 Miller Road in Mahwah. This new spot brings Half Baked’s signature sweets to a wider local crowd — and right in the founder’s hometown. Read on for what to know about Half Baked coming to Mahwah, New Jersey.
A Closer Look at Half Baked
Chrissy Carlino, a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education, is the founder of Half Baked. She brings over 20 years of food industry experience to her craft. In a recent press release, she called the upcoming storefront a dream come true and shared her excitement for what’s ahead. Half Baked has built a strong following for its upscale desserts made with high-quality ingredients and creative twists.
Half Baked recently teamed up with Honeycomb Credit, a crowdfunding platform that helps small businesses expand through community-based investment. With this support, the bakery is making the shift from virtual to in-person, giving longtime customers — and newcomers — a chance to experience the menu in real life.

What’s on the Online Menu
The online shop features an array of cookies known as “Chonkers,” available in classic, filled + fancy, and gluten-free varieties. Prices range from $5 to $6.50 per cookie, depending on the flavor and style. Customers can enjoy both nostalgic favorites like chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin, as well as inventive combos like banana pudding-filled cookies and oatmeal blueberry cookies with a lemon drizzle.
Cupcakes are also part of the mix, sold by the dozen with prices starting at $30. Cakes come in a wide range of flavors — from vanilla and almond to funfetti and coconut — and can be customized with different fillings and buttercreams. Popular add-ins include ganache, preserves, cookie crumbles, caramel, and more.
The lineup also includes chocolate-dipped sweets, such as Oreos, crispy rice treats, strawberries, and wafers. Gluten-free options are available across many categories, and prices for these dipped goodies vary based on size, design, and product type.
What to Expect at the Storefront
With the Mahwah shop getting ready to open, Chrissy recently shared some exciting updates about what’s in store. The initial menu will feature fan favorites like chonkers and cupcakes, along with seasonal specials, soft serve, and fun drinks like “dirty sodas.” With a full kitchen space now available, the menu is expected to grow over time.
There’s also a longer-term goal to introduce classes in the shop, where community members can learn baking techniques straight from Chrissy herself. The hope is to make it a welcoming space where a love of desserts can be both shared and passed on.
